¡Ve!

Temeljno vprašanje tokratne paraša ראה je, kako slediti kreatorju. Kako vemo, kaj nam sporoča? Ali mu lahko sledimo, ne da bi vedeli, kaj natančno hoče od nas? Kaj sploh pomeni slediti kreatorju?

FOLLOW MY DESIRE
We need to know what we are dealing with, what even exists - if we want to answer the question of how to follow the creator. We are a desire or a set of desires that come from the creator, and the creator also fulfills desires and thus gives pleasure, which is the essence of everything. The only thing we can do is correct our desires (in fact, they come from the creator) from egoistic to altruistic. We make the correction by resisting acceptance for ourselves alone! Following desires, no matter how wrong they may seem, sooner or later leads us to the creator. This means that existing desires will become altruistic. It is important not to suppress our desires, but to believe that by learning Kabbalah, we will sooner or later transform them to our benefit and to the benefit of the collective in which we operate. In one sentence: we follow the creator with faith and not with behavior.
It all depends on our desires. Where there is a will, there is a way - the old saying goes. Desires must be strong enough, they must contain a longing, which is the generator of everything. If we want to trigger a longing, we must achieve the absence of the fulfillment of this desire. Or. the light must leave the kli, if we want a longing to arise, which will then lead to the realization of the desire and to more complete pleasure.
Sometimes we need to experience a state that is the opposite of what we want in order to trigger true longing. That is why the Creator places us in situations where we seemingly burn out on existing desires that are the opposite of what we plan to do going forward.
Example: if we decide to walk a very long distance, we develop a desire to walk - which, of course, is not compatible with our other desire (the real, realistic desire for life), which is to live in a certain place. Therefore, the creator "burns" us with the desire to walk and thus triggers the longing for a place of order. When we want something new, space must be created for it. The old must be reduced.
COMMENT
This is the week when Kabbalists have a lot of wisdom, because the Sephirah Chokma is at work. In Kabbalah, we say that there are two types of light: direct light and reflected light. The direct light that is available this week can burn us, burn us - let us remember the danger of the month of Av. However, if we manage to change the direct light into reflected light, we can receive wisdom. This is only possible when we receive with the intention of giving. This is the result of spiritual transformation. Behold!, see! - which is the title of the parashah, means seeing beyond the first impression. This is essentially wisdom; when we experience a process that we may or may not understand, it is important to look even deeper. That is why we say that we reflect the light - we reflect the knowledge at the first impression and wait for wisdom.
The food that this parashah speaks of is a metaphor for light, or in other words, it tells us how to deal with the reality that we see. Our attitude towards illusion determines whether we will receive blessings or curses in our lives. At some point, curses will become blessings, and blessings will no longer be as good as they seemed at first glance.
This is a week when we must strive to be more tolerant of those who think differently and look for the false prophet within ourselves, recognizing within ourselves those forces of momentary comfort that try to seduce us into believing that our current truth is the only true and final one.
Forgiving your neighbor's debts is connected to loving your neighbor as yourself. It is a great opportunity to redefine yourself and start something new.
A great emphasis in the parasha is on idolatry - the worship of "other" elohim. When we leave Egypt and travel through the desert, we are faced with egoism. It is quite normal that we create new values (new desires) for ourselves, which we consider suitable for entering the promised land, since they are the opposite of our current egoism. Thus, we create idols within ourselves, new elohim. When entering the promised land, we will have to destroy them and understand the creator as one, as all good. The problem of idolatry is essentially one of the most important, accompanying us at every step of spiritual transformation: in Egypt we worship other elohim, in the desert we create a golden calf, and in the promised land we project idols.
The wisdom we receive from this parashah is very important for the month of Elul, which immediately follows Reeh. During this time, a longing for altruism is formed, with which we will operate during Elul and all the way to Rosh Hoshan.
