JOM KIPUR

Dan sprave

We reach a spiritual state where we are permanently and unconditionally connected to the creator. This state allows us a new beginning, the beginning of a new part of our spiritual path.

On this day, malkut connects with bina and receives from it without an intermediary and abundantly.

We rise above creation, above good and evil; above knowledge - into life.

Yom Kippur is the main symbol of the process of reaching a higher power that is separate from all creation. Without unification and without caring for the entire world kli, for mutual assistance, for all humanity, it is not possible to achieve even the slightest spiritual revelation.

Yom Kippur is the most important day of the Kabbalistic calendar, the “holiest of holies.” The holiday is also called (a kind of plural) Yom Ha-Ki-Purim, יום הכיפורים – in this version we could also extract “ki-purim,” which means “like Purim.” Let us remember that Purim is a holiday when we reach a state where we no longer distinguish good from evil, where there is only good. Such is the deeper potential of Yom Kippur, in fact it is the beginning of a process that then culminates in Purim.

Yom Kippur means the Day of Atonement. It is the day we conclude the ten days of teshuvah, which began the new year of the Kabbalistic calendar.

What does the Torah say about the holiday?

Leviticus 16:29

29 This shall be a perpetual statute for you: On the tenth day of the seventh month you shall afflict your souls, and shall do no work, whether you are a native or a stranger who sojourns among you. 30 For on this day atonement shall be made for you, to cleanse you; you shall be clean from all your sins before the Lord. 31 It shall be a sabbath of complete rest to you, and you shall afflict your souls.

Leviticus 23:27

27 “On the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement; you shall have a holy convocation, and you shall humble yourselves and present an offering made by fire to the Lord. 28 You shall do no work on that same day, for it is a Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29 For whoever does not humble himself on that same day, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 30 Whoever does any work on that same day, I will cut off from among his people. 31 You shall do no work. It shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings. 32 It shall be a Sabbath of solemn rest for you; you shall humble yourselves. On the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your Sabbath.”

We see that this day is called “Saturday.” This is the meaning that Saturday/Shabbat has; it is when we achieve direct contact with the creator.

The final stage of building the container.

The word kipur is first encountered in Gen 6:14. It means wax and to cover with wax. It refers to Noah's preparation of the ark. The metaphor of the ark is the raising of malkut into the bina, where we receive all the light necessary for correction.

Complete fasting and other restrictions

We read that Yom Kippur is celebrated from evening to evening. During this time we do not eat, drink (anything), wash, apply perfume or cream, have sexual intercourse, or wear leather shoes.

These six restrictions symbolize our renunciation of egoistic acceptance and our direct connection with the creator.

Through fasting, we reach a state of altered awareness, where we meditate, encounter ourselves, and above all, the obstacles that separate us from our true selves.

The Tree of Knowledge and the Tree of Life

In a religious sense, it is the day when we repent and are forgiven. In a Kabbalistic sense, it is necessary to know that we reach the Creator when we pass from the tree of knowledge to the tree of life. That is; when we prioritize trust over knowledge or. behavior. Yom Kippur is a reset of our limited logic.

The Creator is behind everything, including our egoism. Therefore, it would be pointless for a Kabbalist to ask the Creator for forgiveness in the classical sense for something that the Creator Himself placed in our path.

On Yom Kippur, it is essential that we are able to believe that our current situation is illusory and that we are able to believe in the achievement of a new situation, for which we need a strong desire.

The discomforts that arise during our meditation and that we find distance us from the Creator should be used to strengthen our longing for the Creator.

Knjiga Jona

The Old Testament book of the prophet Jonah is very short, it is read on Yom Kippur and meditates on it and discovers one's own egoism. The key question must be: "What separates me from the collective? What is my task in the collective? Why do I not recognize these tasks?"

Upoštevali so ga in začeli post!

Če bomo odpuščanje in spravo videli v kontekstu iskanja našega mesta v procesu kolektivne spiritualne preobrazbe, bomo naredili korak bliže h kreatorju.
